The Natalie Miller Fellowship (NMF) is thrilled to announce that Australian entertainment marketer, Bridgette Graham, has received this year’s Natalie Miller Fellowship. Graham was announced as the recipient of the prestigious fellowship during the virtual Australian Independent Distributors Association (AIDA) Conference.
Established in 2011 to recognise the unique contribution of screen industry pioneer Natalie Miller AO, the Fellowship is open to established women working in the Australian screen industry and aims to provide an annual $20,000 grant to aspirational women in all sectors to pursue professional leadership through attachments, internships, secondments, travel and other means in order to reach their full leadership potential.
This year’s recipient, Bridgette Graham, has built a diverse career in the Australian film industry, having worked with leaders from exhibition, distribution and production to create meaningfully integrated marketing platforms for modern box office classics and beloved entertainment brands. She is currently a Product Marketing Manager for Roadshow Films specialising in creative and campaign strategy for their locally produced Australian feature films. A champion of the creative application of data and technology paired with meaningful sociological insights to reach new audiences, Graham has most recently led campaign strategy for blockbuster Australian films The Dry, Penguin Bloom and RAMS. Graham holds an MBA from RMIT and was a recipient of the Film Victoria Women in Leadership and Development Fellowship in 2018. Prior to her role with Roadshow Films, she was the Marketing Manager for Moving Story Entertainment and has been the General Manager – Sydney for Dendy Cinemas.
President of the Natalie Miller Fellowship Rachel Okine said: “In the true spirit of the Fellowship, Bridgette displays all the qualities of the ideal recipient; she has an already impressive career trajectory with a demonstrated commitment to professional development, an enduring passion for Australian film and a deep dedication to contributing to a more robust and dynamic industry. NMF is thrilled to recognise her achievements and support her ambitions with this grant.”
Upon receiving the grant, Graham said: “I am honoured to join the ranks of recipients of the Natalie Miller Fellowship, a group I have admired since the beginning of my career in film, for their contributions to the industry in both innovation and culture. Endeavouring to continue this legacy, I will be researching new technologies and disruptive business models to build pathways to audiences, placing consumers at the core of content decisions and addressing the distance between consumers, producers and distributors.”
The Natalie Miller Fellowship is the only grant of its kind in the country and is proudly supported by co-sponsors Village Roadshow and creative studio KOJO, with each providing $50,000 over five years to support the Fellowship.
Since 2012, ten Fellowships have been awarded to: Rachel Okine (Head of Features and Development Executive, Stan); Harriet Pike (Head of Production & Development, WildBear Entertainment); Rebecca Hammond (Post Production Manager, Beyond Productions); Courtney Botfield (Head of Distribution & Sales, Bunya Productions); Sasha Close (Program Manager, Gold Coast Film Festival); Kristy Matheson (Creative Director, Edinburgh International Film Festival); Miriam Katsambis (Legal Counsel, Entertainment One); Anna Kaplan (Producer and Impact Producer, Greenfield Pictures); Pauline Clague (Founder and Artistic Director of Winda Film Festival); and Bridgette Graham (Product Marketing Manager, Roadshow Films).
